Dianna Russini Leaving WRC for ESPN

russini2Dianna Russini, a sports reporter and anchor at Washington NBC O&O WRC, is leaving the station for a new gig at ESPN.

The Washington Post reports that Russini will be an anchor for SportsCenter at the network.

“It was something I wasn’t really sure I wanted to do yet, because I feel like Washington has really become my home,” she told the Post on Monday. “I’ve really fallen in love with the coverage and the teams and the fans, but I feel like this is an opportunity for me to grow and get better and really do something I’ve wanted to do my whole life.”

Prior to joining WRC in May 2013, Russini worked at WVIT, the NBC O&O in Hartford, Conn, where she was a sports anchor/reporter and general assignment reporter.

Russini leaves WRC in early June. She starts her new gig at ESPN later this summer.
