Denver CBS Station Makes Changes in Weather

By Kevin Eck

KCNC is making changes to its weather line up it says is a first in local tv.

The Denver CBS-owned station will have three dedicated evening weather forecasters on its 5, 6, 6:30 and 10 p.m newscasts. KCNC also says an additional two will round out the weekly coverage.

Meteorologist Lauren Whitney will join weather anchor Ed Greene and meteorologist Chris Spears live from the station’s Mobile weather lab.

Whitney will be replaced in the mornings and at noon by Ashton Altieri, who joins KCNC in October. Meteorologist Dave Aguilera will work the weekend shows.

“These changes to our weather team give us an opportunity to provide Colorado with the most up-to-date forecasts from our studio and live from the field, wherever the weather is happening,” said GM Walt DeHaven. “Our team is one of the most seasoned with a combined 77 years of experience forecasting Colorado’s unpredictable weather.”
