Dan Jacobson has been promoted to news director at NY1, according to FishbowlNY.
The post was previously held by Bernie Han, who was promoted to vice president of news and programming for Time Warner Cable last year. Jacobson has been the station’s assistant news director since 2003. His appointment is effective immediately.
Jacobson was the cable channel’s first planning editor before moving on to political producer. He launched “Road to City Hall,” NY1’s show about New York City politics, which was eventually renamed “Inside City Hall.” Read more at FishbowlNY
