Damaged Richmond Antenna Could Be ‘Months’ Away From Repair

By Merrill Knox

Repairs on an antenna that serves three stations in Richmond have been delayed, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

The company charged with repairing the antenna, which was damaged in March, is going out of business. The antenna serves over-the-air viewers of PBS affiliate WCVW, ABC affiliate WRIC and Fox affiliate WRLH. After the weather-related damage, the equipment was replaced with a temporary antenna that has a shorter range than the original, and some over-the-air viewers are still unable to watch the three stations.

“There’s no easy fix,” WRLH general manager Steve Genett told the Times-Dispatch. “We don’t have a good timeline. … We could be months away from a real fix.”
