Dallas Stations Cover Mavericks Victory Parade

The Dallas market was in full celebration mode this morning as the NBA-champion Mavericks returned to their hometown for a victory parade.

All the Dallas stations took the parade, which lasted from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., in its entirety. Both WFAA and KDFW were in continuing coverage from 9 a.m. — an hour before the parade started — all the way through the team’s victory rally at the American Airlines Center, which ended shortly after 2 p.m.

KXAS, the area NBC O&O, chose to stay with “The Today Show” until 9:45 a.m., when they went to their team along the parade route. KTVT started their parade programming at 9 a.m., but dropped back into regular programming from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. while the team made their way into the arena.
