Cynthia Demos Leaving WFOR

By Kevin Eck

WFOR weekend anchor Cynthia Demos is leaving the Miami CBS-owned station.

“We were in contract negotiations (at WFOR) but a new opportunity came along,” Demos told Gossip Extra, which first reported the news. “I was actually thinking about staying but a friend who runs a public relations agency asked me to come aboard.”

She tells she is to become a managing partner at The Dana Agency, an event planning firm with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Miami owned by Dana Rhoden. Demos is also running her own video production and media training company.

Demos says she’s finally get her nights and weekends to hang with her two young children, a three-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl.

“Channel 4 is my family,” Demos said, “and there is a lot of talent there. I know they’ll keep doing great. But I know my children need their momma.”

Demos joined WFOR in 2007. Her last day will be Sunday Oct. 11.
