COZI TV Adds Three Stations, Names Director of Programming and Promotion

With the addition of three new affiliates, COZI TV, the network developed by the NBC Owned Television Stations, is now available in 47.5 million homes, or 42 percent of the country. WMFP in Boston, KUBE in Houston and KSHB in Kansas City are latest stations to sign on.

COZI TV has also announced the hire of Diane Petzke, who will join the network as director of programming and promotion. In her new role, she be tasked with scheduling and expanding awareness “through an aggressive marketing and social media strategy,” according to NBC. Petzke was most recently general manager and director of programming for NYC Media, non-commercial channels devoted to local culture and lifestyle.

“We’re excited to bring someone of Diane’s caliber to COZI TV,” Meredith McGinn, vice president of COZI TV and LX.TV, said in a statement. “Her talents and experience are sure to help launch COZI TV to the next level.”

Network Signs New Affiliates, Including Stations in Boston, Houston and Kansas City
Hires Award-Winning Journalist and Television Executive to Run Scheduling and Promotion

NEW YORK, NY – (June 10, 2013) – COZI TV, the new network developed by the NBC Owned Television Stations division of NBCUniversal, today announced that it is now available in 47.5 million homes or 42 percent of the country. The network, which officially launched at the beginning of the year, reached this latest milestone by recently adding WMFP in Boston, KUBE in Houston and KHSB in Kansas City to its growing roster of affiliates.

“We’re so excited with the positive response we’ve received from local stations around the country for COZI TV,” said Meredith McGinn, Vice President of COZI TV and LX.TV. “Given our growth in such a short period of time, it’s clear that our iconic shows, like Bionic Woman, Magnum, P.I. and The Six Million Dollar Man, are being enthusiastically welcomed by audiences nationwide.”

In addition, COZI TV named award-winning journalist and television executive Diane Petzke as Director of Programming and Promotion for the network. In this new role, Petzke will oversee scheduling for COZI TV and expand awareness of the network through an aggressive marketing and social media strategy.

Petzke brings more than 20 years of media experience to her role. Most recently, she was General Manager and Director of Programming for NYC Media, New York City’s four non-commercial channels that explore local culture, lifestyle and history. During her four-year tenure at NYC Media, Petzke re-branded the network, launched over 30 new programs and created a variety of media partnerships, including The New York Times, New York Magazine, History Channel and NBC 4 New York.

Petzke began her career as a researcher and reporter at The Wall Street Journal, which led her to becoming one of the first producers at CNBC and CNBC Asia.  She later served as a producer at MSNBC and ABC News 20/20, as well as Executive Producer of Hollywood Heat, an entertainment magazine show on Court TV and later TruTV.

In 1992, Petzke was awarded the prestigious William Benton Fellowship in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Chicago.  She is the recipient of three Telly and regional Emmy awards, as well as the Michael E. DeBakey Medical Journalism prize for her reporting on PETA for ABC News. Petzke earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Politics from New York University, as well as a Master of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of Chicago. She resides in New York City with her husband.

COZI TV airs some of America’s most beloved and iconic television shows and hit movies of all time as well as original programming. Almost 40 stations, including the 10 NBC-owned stations that serve most of the nation’s largest markets, now air the network, mainly on their multicast channels. Other COZI TV affiliates include WMYD in Detroit, WTHR in Indianapolis and KSNV in Las Vegas.
