Courthouse Dedicates Media Room to WTVT’s Warren Elly

By Mark Joyella

Today in Tampa, Fla., the media room at the Hillsborough County Courthouse will be formally dedicated to Warren Elly, the longtime reporter for Fox-owned WTVT who died in April.

Elly spent thirty years at WTVT–and certainly logged hours in the courthouse media room. “I spent 40 years telling the stories of life and death, the triumphs, the tragedies from inside scores of courtrooms, to more than a hundred rockets’ red glare,” Elly wrote on his blog shortly before his death.

Diagnosed with a rare adrenal cancer that had metastasized, Elly chose to stop chemotherapy. He was 64.
