Cleveland’s WJW Set to Launch Weekend Morning Newscast This Fall

By Merrill Knox

Cleveland’s Fox affiliate, WJW, is expanding their morning newscast to seven days a week.

The weekend edition, which launches September 10, will be anchored by Mark Zinni and Amanda Jahn, who returns to television after a three-year hiatus following the birth of her young daughter. She was most recently an anchor at KTVK in Phoenix. (Watch a promo for the new show featuring Zinni and Jahn, above.)

“I grew up watching this number-one station, so it’s very exciting to have this opportunity,” Zinni told TVSpy in an email. His regular duties as a WJW reporter will be expanded for the anchoring gig.

The weekend newscast is scheduled for 8 a.m. It will be two hours both days, although on Sundays it will be split into two separate hours — an 8 a.m. hour and a 10 a.m. hour — since “Fox News Sunday” airs at 9 a.m. in Cleveland.
