Citing Harassment, Former Reporter Takes NY1 to Court

A former TV reporter who says she was blackballed for complaining about sexual harassment at New York 1 will tell her story to a Brooklyn jury this week.

Adele Sammarco maintains that in the nine years she’s been off the air, she’s been able to find work only in public relations jobs on Staten Island.

“I’m relieved my case is finally going to trial after a near-decade of fighting,” Sammarco said. “I believe in equal pay for equal work and that no one should ever be abused on the job.”

Sammarco’s suit against news execs Steve Paulus and Peter Landis and former human resources manager Elizabeth Fanfant is filled with accusations of sleazy behavior at the 24-hour news station owned by Time Warner. More…
