Cindy Fitzgibbon Signing Off From Boston’s WFXT

After more than a decade at WFXT, meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon is leaving the Fox O&O in Boston.

“I’ve made a decision, just really for personal reasons, that when my contract expires on October 3, I’m not going to re-sign,” Fitzgibbon said on the morning newscast today (video above). “I just kind of want to take a little bit of a break. My last day will be in two weeks.”

Fitzgibbon went on to say that she and her family are fine, noting it was just “a good time to take a breather.” She joined the station in 2002 and has been the morning meteorologist since the launch of the morning newscast in 2003.

>Update: “For the last ten years, we’ve had the good fortune of being guided by Cindy’s reliable and accurate forecasts,” WFXT news director Paul McGonagle told TVSpy. “Her affable style and incredible work ethic will be missed.”
