Chief Meteorologist Lee Davis to Retire After 19 Years at WAND

By Merrill Knox

WAND chief meteorologist Lee Davis will retire Thursday after 19 years at the NBC affiliate in Decatur, Ill.

Davis, who serves as meteorologist for the noon, 4 and 5 p.m. newscasts, said he is looking forward to spending more time with his family in his retirement.

“It’s been a great time working here…most fun job I’ve had. I’ve gotten to do continuous coverage of tornado warnings, ridden with the Blue Angels, met people whom I’d not have gotten to know had I not been in this job, and along with all that I’ve been paid,” Davis wrote on WAND’s website.
