Chief Meteorologist David Bernard Leaving WFOR

WFOR chief meteorologist David Bernard is leaving the Miami CBS O&O when his contract is up in November, a station spokesperson has confirmed to TVSpy.

The news was first reported by Gossip Extra’s Jose Lambiet, who says Bernard rejected a pay cut in the station’s contract proposal. He will officially sign off from the station after hurricane season in November. Bernard also serves as a the hurricane consultant for CBS News, appearing on “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” and “CBS This Morning.”

Bernard’s departure caps eight years at WFOR. He has previously worked at WWL in New Orleans, KJRH in Tulsa, KVII in Amarillo, Texas and KZTV in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Bernard and WFOR both declined to comment.
