CBS is set to launch a new morning show on WLNY, the Long Island, NY-based station that the company acquired in April.

The new show, titled “Live From the Couch,” will air weekdays form 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and feature a mix of news, talk, lifestyle, and entertainment segments.

“Live From the Couch” will be hosted by John Elliott and Lisa Kerney, who currently work WCBS‘s morning newscast, and Carolina Bermudez, who will join the show following a seven-year run as co-host of the New York radio show “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.”

“We are committed to making ‘Live From the Couch’ stand out from the other local morning shows in the market,” said David Friend, the news director of WCBS and WLNY, and SVP of news for the CBS station group.  “Having Carolina, John and Lisa on the couch and a talented production team led by our executive producer Diana Miller will give us a show featuring a great mix of news, talk and unpredictable fun.”

Elliott, a veteran meteorologist who’s been with WCBS since 2007, and Kerney, who joined the station at the beginning of this year, will continue their roles on WCBS’s morning newscast.

Miller, the show’s EP, previously worked as a senior producer for Anderson Cooper’s syndicated daytime talk show, “Anderson.”

The show is expected to debut in early July.  WLNY is also preparing to launch a new 9 p.m. newscast this summer.
