CBS Producer Allen Levy Dies at 59

By Merrill Knox

CBS Newspath Producer Allen Levy was found dead last week after he failed to show up for a live shot in Arizona, where he was producing coverage of the wildfires for “The Early Show.” Levy was 59.

The veteran news producer was found in his hotel room after apparently suffering a heart attack. He has been a freelance producer for CBS Newspath, a breaking news division of CBS that provides coverage for its affiliates, for eight years.

Prior to joining CBS, he was a freelance producer for ABC and News Director for KTVL in Medford, OR. He has also been a producer for WFOR in Miami and KARE in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
