C-SPAN Republican Candidates’ Forum to Air on Local Stations

By Mark Joyella

C-SPAN announced Wednesday a New Hampshire forum for Republican presidential candidates, which will air on at least two local stations, WLTX, the CBS affiliate in Columbia, S.C., and KCRG, the ABC affiliate in Cedar Rapids.

The forum comes three days before the first debate of the campaign season, which is set for August 6 in Cleveland. Fox News has limited participation in the debate to ten candidates, based on their standing in national polling. “Fox says only the ‘top’ 10 candidates, as judged solely by national polling, will be allowed on its stage … [T]he first votes are half a year away, and there are a lot more than 10 viable candidates,” said the forum’s organizers in a statement.
