Busted! KSLA Gets Back at Alleged On Air Scammer

By Kevin Eck

KSLA, the CBS affiliate for Shreveport, LA thought it was doing a good deed Friday night when it aired the story of a family left homeless by Hurricane Isaac.  The story was prompted by an email from a good Samaritan looking to help the family get back on its feet.  According to the station website, the station soon discovered it may have been fooled.

After the story aired, KSLA News 12 received phone calls from viewers saying that the couple was known for scamming on innocent people and that they were not homeless. We met up with Maston to give him a chance to address the allegations.

Sasha Jones, the reporter on the story, quickly invited the couple to the station to answer the allegations.  The suspect and his wife showed up, sat down for an interview and were promptly arrested by Shreveport Police.  You can watch the video after the jump.
