CBS Appoints New GMs in San Francisco and Chicago: Bruno Cohen to KPIX, Marty Wilke to WBBM

CBS announced two new general managers at its O&Os this morning: Bruno Cohen (pictured) will join KPIX in San Francisco, and Marty Wilke will join WBBM in Chicago.

Cohen replaces Ron Longinotti, whose departure was first reported yesterday by San Francisco media blogger Rich Leiberman. In a statement, CBS said Longinotti is “leaving the company to pursue other endeavors.”

Cohen has been the general manager at WBBM since 2008. He is a Bay Area native who was president and general manager of KOVR-KMAX, the CBS duopoly in Sacramento, for three years before moving to Chicago. In his new role, he will also oversee CBS-owned CW affiliates KBCW in San Francisco and KSTW in Seattle.

“Given his long track record of success, great leadership skills and experience in Northern California, Bruno is ideally suited to work with the talented and successful teams we have in place in San Francisco and Seattle and help us raise the bar even higher,” CBS Television Stations president Peter Dunn said.

Wilke will succeed Cohen at WBBM on October 1. She has been vice president and general manager of crosstown rival WGN, the CW affiliate in Chicago, since 2008.

Dunn said Wilke “understands the intricacies of the market and has earned a great reputation as a skilled operator during her many years at WGN.”

“We are excited to welcome Marty to the CBS family and look forward to having her work with the great team of people we have at WBBM to drive even more growth and success in the months and years ahead,” he said.
