Boston Station Interviews Sox Fans with Vague Ideas About History and Birthdays

By Kevin Eck

After the hometown Boston Red Sox clinched the World Series Wednesday night, WHDH reporter Ryan Schulteis interviewed a couple of fans who were either more than a few sheets to wind or time travelers who came to re-live the joy of a Boston World Series victory at home.

At the start of the interview not seen on the YouTube clip above, one of the young men told the Boston NBC affiliate reporter this win wasn’t the same as the last time the Sox won at home in 1918.

So Schultheis turned his attention to the young man standing next to the young old-timer,”Talk about being here for this momentous occasion. This is history!” said Schulteis. “This is history and I’ll tell you what,” said the young man. “I was not alive during 1918, obviously, and this was more than f#cking history!”

Then to keep the fun going, Schulteis returned to the first guy who told the Boston reporter, “I’ve been alive since probably 1988 and this is the best time ever because I’ve been watching the Sox since ’88 and I’ve never seen ’em win a game six since now.” Yogi Berra anyone?
