Birmingham Station Makes Anchor Moves

Birmingham, Ala. ABC affiliate WCFT-WSJU is giving viewers a new look to start sweeps.

al.com reports Wendell Edwards (pictured center) has joined the Birmingham station as morning co-anchor alongside Ebony Hall and Sheri Falk. Edwards comes from KOCO in Oklahoma City where he was an anchor and reporter.

Weekend anchor Honora Gathings (pictured left) has moved to the midday news as co-anchor with Linda Mays. Gathings started with the station in 2008.

Sarah Snyder (pictured right) replaces Gathings as anchor of the weekend 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. news. She started at the station in 2011. She’ll continue reporting weekdays at 10:00 p.m.

“We are excited to work with these talented journalists in their new roles,” Wayne Reid, WCFT-WJSU GSM and interim GM. “Each of them brings a high level of trustworthiness, professionalism and experience that is expected by ABC 33/40 News viewers. As a viewer myself, I am looking forward to seeing them on-air and in action.”
