Steubenville NBC affiliate WTOV has announced the return of Bill Phillips, who was sports director at the station for more than a decade before leaving for WPXI in Pittsburgh.

“WTOV was a fantastic place to work, and I am excited to return in a new role to work at what I feel is a great television station,” said Phillips, who will co-anchor morning and noon newscasts with Jessica Haberley. “I’m excited for the opportunity to work with Jessica again and look forward to teaming up together as a team on the morning show.”

“Bill was one of the cornerstones in NEWS9 becoming the dominant news station in the Ohio Valley,” said WTOV general manager Tim McCoy. “His great work ethic, enthusiasm and passion have set him apart. He is one of the most professional people I have ever had the pleasure of working with and can’t wait for his return to the station.”
