Beth Marsoun has been named news director at KWQC, the NBC-affiliate in Davenport, IA.
Marsoun has been serving as the station’s interim news director since March. Her appointment is effective immediately.
“Beth has distinguished herself as a strong leader of KWQC’s news department, winning the respect of those both inside and outside of the station,” KWQC VP-GM Kenneth Freedman said in a statement. “She has worked tirelessly to uphold the reputation of KWQC as the place those in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois turn to keep informed, engaged and alert to the issues that affect them.”
After working as an intern at KWQC in college, she officially began her career at the station as a news editor in 2003. Most recently, she has been the station’s executive producer. [via TVNewsCheck]
