Ken Cook, chief meteorologist for Atlanta FOX owned station WAGA, has announced his retirement.

“I am happy to tell you that I will be retiring at the middle of this Summer,” Cook told viewers. “This was not a decision done in haste or taken lightly, but one that my wife, Susie, and I, along with FOX-5, have been working on for more than one-year now.”

Cook also thanked viewers for the “nearly 35 great years” he has had at WAGA.

“We will miss Ken’s passion and ‘tell like it is’ weather reporting,” said VP and news director Mike McClain in a statement. “We want to thank him for his many years of service to our community; he will be missed.”
