Antenna Problem Causes Signal Disruption at 3 Richmond Stations

By Merrill Knox

An antenna problem has reduced the broadcast signal power for three Richmond stations: ABC affiliate WRIC, Fox affiliate WRLH and public television station WCVW.

The three stations share the antenna, which is located in Chesterfield County. Viewers who watch the station over the air have been unable to receive broadcasts since the beginning of the month, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

“The antenna exciter is broken and it’s not sending out the airwave signal properly,” WCVW VP-GM John Felton said.

Felton said repairs could take more than a month at significant cost, possibly in the $100,000 range.
