Tucson NBC affiliate KVOA has named Angelique Lizarde weekend anchor, the station announced Wednesday. Lizarde previously worked at the station from 2009-2012 before leaving for San Diego.
“We are very fortunate to get a journalist of Angelique’s caliber back on our news team,” said Cathie Batbie, KVOA’s news director. “She has tremendous experience covering big stories and from her previous experience in Tucson she knows the newsworthy issues that matter in southern Arizona.”
“It’s great to have Angelique back in our newsroom,” said Bill Shaw, KVOA president and general manager. “She’s experienced covering stories all over southern Arizona and will be a great addition to our weekend anchor team.”
