Anchor Tom Crespo Reunites with News Director at Texoma’s KXII

Texoma CBS-affiliate KXII announced on Tuesday that it had hired Tom Crespo to co-anchor the station’s evening newscasts. Crespo, who was most recently an anchor for Dallas’s KDAF, will join Maureen Kane at the anchor desk beginning January 3rd.

The move reunites Crespo with Anthony Maisel. The two worked together at KDAF and Maisel joined KXII as news director last week. Maisel resigned as KDAF’s news director in 2007 and Crespo was let go by the station in early 2009.

“Tom is a top-notch anchor and reporter, and he and Maureen will make a great team on the anchor desk,” Maisel said, in making the announcement. “I’m very pleased to be working with him again.”

Crespo and Maisel go way back. At KDAF, Maisel was tasked with launching the station’s first-ever primetime newscast in 1998 and he hired Crespo to be the CW-affiliate’s marquee anchor.

KXII serves the Texoma region along the Texas-Oklahoma border. “I’m excited about the opportunity, especially at KXII, one of the most respected stations in Texas,” Crespo said.
