After 12 years with the station, anchor Charles Billi is leaving Miami’s WSVN. Billi will stay on until February, at which point he will leave to focus on the culture site BigTampa.com, according to SFLTV.

Billi joined WSVN in 1998 as a general assignment reporter and eventually worked his was to becoming a weekend anchor and then finally a weekday co-anchor alongside Lynn Martinez. BigTampa bills itself as a website for “the hippest, hottest, and most happening people, places and events in Tampa.”

Billi is originally from Tampa and his decision to leave WSVN represents both a move back to his roots as well as a way to focus on his core interests. BigTampa focusses on the late-night, loud music pleasures of the Tampa area–something that Billi is drawn to, according to his Facebook profile, where he says he enjoys staying up late and exclaims, “Life without music can’t exist.”
