WTVW-WEHT in Evansville, IN, has announced a few anchor changes taking place this week.

Kara Kirtley has joined the station as the morning co-anchor.  She anchors the 5:00 to 7:00 a.m. news for ABC affiliate WEHT and the 7:00 a.m. news for WTVW.

“I am thrilled and honored to become a part of the Eyewitness News Daybreak team,” said Kirtley. “Having grown up in Central City, Kentucky, returning to the Tri-State now feels like coming home. Covering the news in our community means so much to me and I consider it a real blessing.”

Kirtley comes to WTVW-WEHT from Great Falls, MT, where she was the evening news manager and anchor for KFBB.

Another addition to the morning news team is Tabnie Dozier who began reporting for the station’s “Dashboard Report,” a morning traffic update featuring live reports from high volume traffic spots around the area. She announced the news on her facebook page saying, “starting this Monday I will be your new Morning Reporter on Daybreak. I’ll be up and at em at 5am.”

WTVW also made a change to its 9:00 p.m. newscast. Shalah Sasse will move from the weekends to co-anchor the weeknight 9 p.m. news with Brad Byrd beginning Tuesday. Kayla Moody will replace Sasse as the weekend co-anchor with David Shepherd.

“Shalah is a talented journalist that will be a wonderful addition to Brad [Byrd], Wayne [Hart], and Drew [Amman] in the Tri-State’s only primetime local news,” said WTVW-WEHT general manager Arika Zink. “With our passion for localism, we are excited to be able to add another Indiana native to the team on Eyewitness News at 9 on Local 7 WTVW.”
