Allison McGinley has been named news director for WKMG.
The Orlando Sentinel reports McGinley has worked at the Orlando CBS affiliate for six years. She replaces Steve Hyvonen, who resigned in July.
“Her experience, talent, energy and commitment made her the easy choice to lead News 6 into the future,” WKMG said in a release. That statement also said “she has distinguished herself and defined just about every aspect of the news operation.”

The Sentinel also reports McGinley help the station rebrand itself from “Local 6” to “News 6.”
