After 26 Years Robin Robinson Says Goodbye to WFLD Anchor Chair

By Kevin Eck

After 26 years as anchor at WFLD, Robin Robinson said goodbye to the chair last night at the Chicago FOX owned station.

“I’m leaving the chair after nearly 30 years here at one station with the smartest most engaged audience anywhere and some of the best colleagues in what I consider not just a business, but a service, not making the news, but making it matter to you,” said Robinson during last night’s 9:00 p.m. newscast.

The longtime Chicago anchor is stepping down to work with Mike Flannery as host and primary correspondent on the newly launched series of reports “Chicago at the Tipping Point.”

Robinson began anchoring the evenings at WFLD in 1987 when the station launched its local news.
