Oakland’s Golden State Warriors did a solid for the ABC-owned station across the bay when they took home the team’s first championship in 40 years.
KGO pulled in a 40.7 rating, which in the land of “I don’t own a TV and if I did I’d only watch PBS” is a HUGE number.
ABC says last night’s clincher was the highest-rated NBA game ever in the market, or at least since 2002. Cleveland’s WEWS also saw some benefit by grabbing a 42 rating, which is the fifth highest NBA game ever on either ABC or ESPN.
