Former Connecticut meteorologist, Geoff Fox, will return to WTNH from his home studio in California.

TVSpy reported when Fox left was cut lose by the station in 2011. He then resurfaced at FOX CT before getting fired for inappropriate use of social media.

Since, he’s been living in California battling cancer.

According to the New Haven Register, Fox was asked back to the station for the Summer to do the weather for the 5, 6, 10 and 11pm shows. He made the announcement on his Facebook page Wednesday night.

“I’m very lucky, unbelievably lucky,” he told the paper.

The report says Rich Graziano, the general manager of the Nexstar owned ABC affiliate, reached out to Fox to offer him the position. He has been doing the weather for News Channel Nebraska from his home studio.

Fox was being treated for pancreatic cancer. His Facebook profile picture notes his last day of chemotherapy was June 22.

He starts Monday.
