Women's Professional Soccer Scores Sixth Sponsor

Women’s Professional Soccer is in trouble, but they landed Sahlen Packing Company, Inc. of Buffalo, NY as a sixth national sponsor. The partnership will make Sahlen’s the “Official Hot Dog of Women’s Professional Soccer.”

“We are pleased to add a premier brand like Sahlen’s to our sponsorship roster in the third year of play,” WPS CEO Anne-Marie Eileraas said in a release. “With the addition of Sahlen’s as another national sponsor, we are ahead of our plans to bring on new sponsors for the 2011 season – well in advance of pre-season.”

Sahlen’s joins PUMA, Citi, Playtex, the U.S. Coast Guard, and MedImmune as national sponsors.

Joe Sahlen, owner of his namesake company, has a vested interest in keeping WPS afloat.He owns Western New York Flash, a 2011 expansion team.

“We are so proud to partner with Women’s Professional Soccer as the league’s official hot dog,” he said in a release. “The league reaches the targeted family demographic for our products and brand that makes it an attractive property.”

The ’11 season kicks off on Saturday, April 9th with the Atlanta Beat host the Boston Breakers at KSU Soccer Stadium in Kennesaw, GA.
