While much of the cable and broadcast news time is being spent in Japan, the networks are also keeping their eyes on the situation in North Africa and the Middle East. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, CBS News’ Wyatt Andrews and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell each got sit-downs with Secy. Hillary Clinton today as she travels through the region. Clinton told Blitzer she will not likely serve in Pres. Obama’s cabinet if he’s re-elected next year.
Earlier in the day, as you can see in this screengrab from MSNBC, Mitchell and Blitzer were alongside Clinton during a surprise trip she made to Tahrir square in Cairo. Blitzer will be anchoring “The Situation Room” from Tunis, Tunisia tonight (5pmET/10pm CET). Meanwhile, CNN’s Piers Morgan is anchoring his show from Israel (9pmET/2am IST) and Anderson Cooper remains in Japan where he’ll anchor AC360 (10pmET/11am JST). All three shows are live and will simulcast on CNN/U.S. and CNN International.
