With Market Turmoil Seemingly in Rear-View Mirror, Business Networks Lose Viewers

By Alex Weprin

Talking Biz News has the total and demo viewership numbers from CNBC and FBN over the past month. Early August saw a few weeks of market turmoil, and the result was skyrocketing ratings for networks like CNBC and Fox Business Network. But with some stabilization in the markets, the business nets declined to more typical levels.

CNBC peaked the week of Aug. 8-14, with 399,000 total viewers and 99,000 demo viewers. This last week the network was at 227,000 total and 60,000 demo viewers. FBN peaked the same week, averaging 107,000 total viewers and 21,000 demo viewers. This last week it was at 59,000 total and 14,000 demo.

Bloomberg is not rated by Nielsen, and thus not included in the data.
