The Many Labors of Mo Rocca

By Chris Ariens

CBS Sunday Morning correspondent Mo Rocca found himself at sea in early August, with a very important reason to get back on land. Rocca was 90 miles off the coast of Ocean City, MD covering the White Marlin Open fishing tournament for a 60 Minutes Sports story airing tomorrow night.

After several days on a fishing boat, he went overboard and hopped on another boat so that he could get back to shore and back to New York to make the finale of the The Daily Show, where he was once a correspondent. Rocca is one of those rare TV news correspondents who has several side gigs: he created and hosts Cooking Channel’s My Grandmother’s Ravioli; he’s a panelist for NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me; he hosts CBS’s Saturday morning show Innovation Nation, which just won Emmy; and he has a recurring role on CBS’s The Good Wife.

And for good measure, last weekend he appeared on Univision’s long-running Saturday night variety show Sábado Gigante.
