Whit Johnson Joins CBS Newspath

Whit Johnson joins CBS News as a correspondent for CBS’ affiliate service Newspath. Johnson, who will be based in Washington, DC, joins from KSL-TV in Salt Lake City.

Johnson will report primarily for Newspath but will contribute to other CBS News broadcasts across the division.

WHIT JOHNSON JOINS CBS NEWS NEWSPATH

Whit Johnson has been named Correspondent for CBS Newspath, John Frazee, Senior Vice President of News Services, announced today. Johnson is based in Washington, DC and will primarily report for CBS Newspath, the network’s 24-hour television news service to CBS stations and broadcasters throughout the world. He also will contribute to CBS News broadcasts across the division. His appointment is effective immediately.

“We’re pleased to have Whit join the remarkable team of correspondents at CBS Newspath,” said Frazee. “Whit’s talent and resourcefulness will be terrific assets to CBS News and to our stations.”

Previously, Johnson co-anchored the 6:30pm news Monday through Friday for KSL-TV, an NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah. Johnson also worked as a general assignment reporter for the station. He was a frequent volunteer for numerous community programs including the Primary Children’s Telethon and First Lady Mary Kaye Huntsman’s “Power in You” organization.

Prior to joining KSL, Johnson was an anchor for KNDU in Kennewick, Washington.

Johnson began his on-air television career as a reporter for KNDO in Yakima, Washington. He received a Bachelor of Television and Radio Broadcasting from San Francisco State University.

Johnson lives in Washington, DC with his wife Andrea Fujii.
