Which Former Fox News Anchor Was On the Diverted JetBlue Flight?

By Merrill Knox

Shepard Smith got some help reporting on “the weirdness going down on a JetBlue flight” from a former Fox News Channel colleague on “Studio B” this afternoon.

“Believe it or not — anybody remember Laurie Dhue?” Smith said. “She was an anchor on this channel, and a good friend, and it turns she was on that flight, and she joins us live now from the airport.”

Dhue, who’s also worked at CNN and MSNBC, was sitting in the fourth row of the plane and gave Smith a firsthand account of the incident from the airport in Amarillo, TX where the New York-Las Vegas flight was diverted. The plane made an emergency landing after the captain “became extremely agitated,” as Dhue explained it.

“A lot of you write us about Laurie all the time,” Smith said as he finished the phone interview. “Laurie’s doing great, and it’s nice to talk to her.”
