Which Democratic Member of Congress Has a ‘Significant Investment’ in Fox News Parent Company News Corp.?

OpenSecrets.org has a fascinating look at which members of Congress hold investments in major media companies. Democrats and Republicans are represented roughly equally, with big media companies like Comcast, Viacom, Disney and News Corp. being popular investments.

One Democratic U.S. Senator has media investments that dwarf any of his colleagues… and they include a very large stake in News Corp., which owns Fox News Channel. Who is it?

Massachusetts Senator and former Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry, who has shares of News Corp. valued at between $600,000 and $1.25 million. That is in addition to shares of NBCUniversal parent company Comcast valued at between $1.75 million and $2.5 million.

Other notable investors include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who owns between $100,000 and $250,000 in Comcast stock and Texas Republican Michael McCaul, who owns significant chunks of stock in Comcast, News Corp. Disney and CBS
