Which Cable News Channels Have the Most Distribution?

In the cable television world, distribution is key. If you can get your channel in enough households, you can keep reinventing it until you find a concept that resonates with viewers.

TVByTheNumbers has done the legwork, providing an updated list of estimated cable coverage figures.

Among the “big three” cable news channels, CNN leads the way and is available in approximately 86.64% of U.S. households. Fox News Channel isn’t far behind at 85.55% coverage with MSNBC third with 82.59% coverage.

Among the business networks, CNBC has a wide lead, and is available in 85.09% of households, with Fox Business Network far behind with 50.17% coverage.

Other channels that fit the bill:

HLN has 86.48% coverage, almost on par with its older sibling CNN, while Current TV has 50.23% coverage. The Weather Channel has 87.20% coverage, behind only TBS in terms of total coverage.
