WHCD Afterparty Clash Involves Fox News, Huff Post Reporters

By Mark Joyella

After a night of barbs and snark, two journalists clashed at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner afterparty, reports The Washington Post.

Fox News’ Jesse Watters and Huffington Post Washington bureau chief Ryan Grim got into a heated exchange that included Grim attempting to “ambush” the O’Reilly Factor correspondent in a manner similar to the stories Watters often files for Bill O’Reilly.

According to the WaPo account:

Watters didn’t take well to this, eventually snatching the phone away from Grim and putting it in his pocket. Grim set out to retrieve it, and a scuffle ensued. No cinematic sparring or broken beer bottles, witnesses said, but the two flailed around a bit, upending a table and bumping into several people.

“Punches were definitely thrown,” said one witness.

The clash was short-lived, with journalists and RNC executive director Sean Spicer, a frequent cable news guest, stepping in.

Watters has yet to comment, but Grim told the WaPo “ambush guy can’t take getting ambushed. Maybe he should think about his life choices.”

Update: Watters will talk about it Monday night on O’Reilly Factor.
