What Would You Do? Heads to Bible Belt

By A.J. Katz

ABC News’ situational hidden-camera series What Would You Do? returns for its 10th season tonight, Friday June 17 at 9 p.m. Hosted by John Quiñones, What Would You Do? sets up ethical dilemmas and documents how everyday people react to them.

Tonight’s premiere presents the scenario of a customer bullying a supermarket employee with Down syndrome. Do the fellow customers step up and defend him or do they continue to go about their business as if nothing is happening? As always, Quiñones appears on camera after the situation comes to a close to ask each person about their split-second and often surprising decision-making process.

Quiñones is excited about the upcoming 13-week season, telling TVNewser that the program will once again hit the road. “This year we will go to Atlanta where we will talk about racism, interracial couples and gay bashing,” says Quiñones. “The reactions in the Bible Belt were different from what we get in New York, which tells us geography matters when you’re discussing all of these issues. People react in different ways depending on where they live even in today’s small world made so by the internet.”
