What Happened to Jay Gray Following His DUI Arrest?

By Alex Weprin

Regular readers may recall that a little over a year ago, NBC News correspondent Jay Gray was arrested for DUI in Pennsylvania. An emailer wanted to know what happened to the case. So we looked into it.

According to court records obtained by TVNewser, in February, Gray entered a 12-month “Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition” program for first-time offenders. The ARD includes counseling, an alcohol safe driving course and some community service. The case is still listed as “active” in the court systems, though it will presumably be closed when he completes the program.

Gray had been covering the case of Jerry Sandusky and on the night of Dec. 11, 2011 he was at a party at the home of Sandusky’s lawyer, Joe Amendola, to watch the Giants-Cowboys football game.

As for Gray, he has been keeping busy on NBC, covering stories like Black Friday shopping, the shooting in Newtown, CT, and Monday night he was in Times Square covering New Year’s Eve celebrations.
