“Special Report” anchor Bret Baier is profiled in the News & Observer (N.C.), and relays a story about a recent run-in with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.
Baier says Emanuel told him “the White House senior staff” watches his FNC show every night.
After expressing his doubt, Baier says Emanuel said: “Now sometimes we have the volume down, but we watch it every night.”

Says Baier: “It told me the administration knows we’re there and it’s in their best interest to watch us.”
Baier also talks about the tone shift from Glenn Beck’s program at 5pmET to “Special Report” the next hour. “When the clock strikes 6, it’s a news program,” he says. “I’m not weighing in…It’s a great balance coming off Beck’s commentary hour.”
