Weekend Morning Show Ratings: July Sweeps

“Good Morning America Saturday” and “CBS Sunday Morning” were the winning weekend morning shows for the just-completed July sweeps period.

On Saturdays, “GMA” won in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic, winning its sixth consecutive sweep in total viewers and fifth consecutive sweep in the demo. Compared to the year-ago sweep, “GMA” was the only show to grow, up +2% in total viewers and +4% in the demo. The Saturday editions of “CBS This Morning” and NBC’s “Today” were down across the board.

On Sundays, “CBS Sunday Morning” was on top as usual, besting the Sunday editions of “Good Morning America” and “Today” in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo. “Good Morning America” was second in both ratings measurements and was the only show to be up across the board, +6% in total viewers and +10% in the demo. “CBS Sunday Morning” was up +8% in total viewers and down -2% in the demo, while the Sunday edition of “Today” was down -3% and -10%, respectively.

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 3.75M / NBC: 2.82M / CBS: 1.73M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 1.32M / NBC: 862K / CBS: 554K

July Sweeps Sunday averages:

  • Total Viewers: CBS: 5.11M / ABC: 3.22M / NBC: 2.91M
  • A25-54 viewers: CBS: 1.42M / ABC: 1.06M / NBC: 904K
