Coverage Plans for Paris Attacks

Weekday anchors are taking part in expanded coverage of the Paris attacks this Saturday morning.

Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie anchored the Today show with Erica Hill in Paris. George Stephanopoulos and Paula Faris anchored Good Morning America with Terry Moran and Matt Gutman live from Paris. David Muir will be in Paris for GMA Sunday and This Week.

CBS’s Norah O’Donnell will anchor a special 48 Hours at 8 p.m. ET, just before CBS’s coverage of the Democratic Primary Debate from Iowa at 9 p.m. ET. 60 Minutes is adjusting its broadcast tomorrow night and will devote the first story to the Paris attacks, reported by Scott Pelley.

CNN is sending a full team to Paris including Christiane Amanpour, John Berman, Erin Burnett, Anderson Cooper, Chris Cuomo, Poppy Harlow and Clarissa Ward.

FBN is simulcasting FNC’s coverage this morning. Maria Bartriomo and Deirdre Bolton are heading to Paris and will be in place for the opening of European markets at 4 a.m. ET.

MSNBC has weekday anchors in place including Tamron Hall. NBC News correspondent Peter Alexander is anchoring from Washington and Chris Jansing has left the campaign trail where she’s been covering Ben Carson and will anchor on MSNBC this afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m. and tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. Chuck Todd will anchor from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

FNC’s Bill Hemmer and Geraldo Rivera are headed to Paris. Shepard Smith will provide five hours of live coverage on the Fox News Deck from 10 a.m. to Noon ET and then from 7 to 10 p.m. ET.

Bret Baier will be in at 6 p.m. ET, Sean Hannity at 10 p.m. and Baier will be back at 11 p.m. for post-Democratic debate coverage.

TV5MONDE, a French-language international news chancel, has authorized affiliates to make the network available to all subscribers until at least midnight Monday. TV5MONDE hopes to connect French-speaking customers in the U.S. with news about the health and location of friends and family in Paris.

Univision and Fusion main anchor Jorge Ramos is on his way to Paris.

Al Jazeera America will have a special hour at 8 p.m. ET anchored by Randall Pinkston in New York and John Seigenthaler in Paris. AJAM’s Mike Viqueira will be reporting from the G20 in Antalya, Turkey where Pres. Obama will meet with other world leaders.
