From Times Square to All the Ships At Sea, It’s ABC Election Night

By Chris Ariens

After stops at CBS this morning and Fox this evening, TVNewser headed to Times Square where for the last several weeks crews have been hard at work transforming the upper level of the studio into ABC’s election night headquarters. When we arrived around 7:15 p.m. George Stephanopoulos was already leading coverage alongside David Muir, Martha Raddatz and Jon Karl while outside, Michael Strahan got crowd reaction from a set which included a map of the U.S. that went red and blue as the night went on.

“There’s a great plan and we have a fantastic team,” ABC News president James Goldston told us. “The set and the graphics and the scale of it. It’s the best election we’ve ever put on.”

ABC News ep of special events Marc Burstein is producing his 5th presidential election night for ABC News alongside executive director Jeff Winn who is calling the shots (both pictured below). We spotted Dan Abrams, ABC’s chief legal analyst who is on “ballot watch,” and other ABC News executives including Tom Cibrowski , Barbara Fedida and Subrata De.

ABC’s coverage is also being beamed to the Armed Forces Network, which reaches military bases worldwide and every military ship at sea.
