Wanda Sykes Lands On FOX, And Talks About Her Rush Comments

By Chris Ariens

FOX broadcasting announced its fall lineup to advertisers today, and controversial comedienne Wanda Sykes is on the schedule. Her Saturday late night show will replace Mad TV and Spike Feresten, both canceled this past season.

While promoting the show today in New York, Sykes was asked about her appearance at the White House Correspondents Dinner last weekend.

Sykes told Inside Edition that her jokes about Rush Limbaugh should not be taken seriously. “Comedian…anything that comes out of here [points to her mouth], can’t take it seriously,” Sykes said adding, “Here’s the problem with people who aren’t comedians, [who] deconstruct comedy. It wasn’t a 9/11 joke. Of course, 9/11 isn’t funny, but it wasn’t a 9/11 joke.”
