Ratings are in for the cable news networks’ wall-to-wall coverage of the Fort Hood shooting, which left four people — including the gunman, Ivan Lopez — dead. During the first two hours of the coverage (from 6-8pmET), Fox News was first, CNN was second and MSNBC was third in both ratings measurements.
In primetime, Fox News was first, CNN was second and MSNBC was third. Fox won in both ratings measurements every hour except for 10pmET, which was the hour of the first news conference from Fort Hood. During that hour, “Hannity” won in total viewers and a CNN special report anchored by Don Lemon won in the demo.
