It was reported today that Pat Summit, the head coach of the women’s basketball team at the University of Tennessee, has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia, a form of Alzheimer’s disease. Summit, 59, addressed the diagnosis she received at the Mayo Clinic in a video to the public and said he plans to coach the Lady Vols this year and “for as long as the Good Lord is willing.”

Summitt has won eight NCAA titles and is the winningest basketball coach in NCAA history.
